Returning to New York; Upcoming: Harold Pinter

Many thanks and much gratitude to the friends I spent time with in London this past weekend: a whirlwind trip, including two plays in two days, theatregoing activity which was much more energetic than I have time for here. Much wine and food consumed together, much talk, all delightful. I will have a few notes on at least Howard Barker's Found in the Ground within the next day or two, once the high-level clouds of jetlag clear my fuzzy head.

But before that, I note that on this upcoming Wednesday, 7 October, a free screening of a film of Harold Pinter's performance in Krapp's Last Tape will take place at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York at 6.30pm. This will be preceded by a full-day workshop on "Acting in Pinter" by Harry Burton, one of Pinter's closest collaborators in the last years of the playwright's life. The price is right, and the performance is as well. More details on both screening and workshop at the Segal Theatre Center here; participants in the panel discussion to follow the screening include John Guare.
