Tuesday, 27 October 2009 Opens Tonight: Idiot SavantRichard Foreman's Idiot Savant opens tonight at the Public Theater; Willem Dafoe, Joel Israel, Alenka Kraigher, Elina Löwensohn, Eric Magnus and Daniel Allen Nelson appear in what may be Foreman's final production on the American stage (he insists that this time he means it and will devote his time and energy to film in the future), and this alone renders it newsworthy. I won't have a chance to see it myself until the night before Thanksgiving, but the YouTube clip below, which features interviews with Dafoe, Foreman and other members of the cast, should whet your own appetite: Idiot Savant runs through 13 December.
